Nice - American Episcopal Church

"The American Episcopalians (...) have now commenced the erection of one of the most handsome churches on the Riviera for the visitors and residents of Nice. The site of the new church is in the Boulevard Victor Hugo, at the corner of the Rue Maccarrini, and the cornerstone was laid on Dec. 29 by the Right Rev. the bishop of North Carolina (........) The architect of the new church is Mr. Habershon of London, the style is Gothic of the decorated period....."
This text was published under the headline "AMERICANS AT NICE" in the "New York Times" on January 28, 1887. It had been published already earlier in the "London Times".
