The First (Wild) Rose of Summer

I sat out at the edge the yard yesterday blocking in the rose and leaf details. Since then I've been emphasizing areas with successive washes.

Around 6" X 8" on 140 lb. cold press.

I plan to do more work on this (washes to darken background) but as this may be one of those paintings when I just don't know when to stop, I figure I'd better save an image of it right now.
