Oil on 3'X6' wood panel. The natural grain of the wood had a lot to do with how this turned out.
I did this over 30 years ago. It's spent most of it's time since then living out on the screened in upstairs deck enjoying our changes in weather. It's seen extremes of -55 degrees to +90 degrees over the years. All in all, I think the colors have held up quite well.
I've spent many a summer and fall evening listening to music, sipping a beer while sitting on the deck in silent communion with these guys. I have to admit, they're good company.
What prompted me to upload it at this time is the really great 'on wood panel' that Shewolf is working on and viewable at her flickr site.
