Candied peel with a jam and brandy glaze on a rich fruit cake. It was difficult to take the glaze reflected the light giving little bright spots, I edited most of them

The waters of Staunton Harold Reservoir are beginning to rise again and this wall will disappear from view maybe for many years, I feel sure that before the flooding it would have been part of the Calke estate. Unfortunately unlike most National Trust properties which are helpful e-mails to Calke are ignored. Maybe I should try the water company

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere of course, Why a picture of Old John ? although it has no pagan connection people will be there in the morning to see the sun rise, clouds permitting !!!! looking at the forecast they may be lucky
