Consiglio a tutti questo Ibrido creato dal famoso ibridatore francese Alain Meilland: ha lunga fioritura, dalla tarda primavera all'autunno inoltrato ed è molto resistente alle malattie che colpiscono le rose. Castello di Grinzane Cavour - Piemonte - Italia con vista sulle colline coperte di viti, forse discendenti da quelle fatte piantare da... leggere qui sotto: Nell'Ottocento questo castello ospitò per quasi vent'anni un illustre personaggio del Risorgimento: Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour. Lo statista vi giunse nel 1830, ospite degli zii, la famiglia De Tonnerre. Incaricato di amministrare i beni di questa famiglia, dimostrò capacità organizzativa e apertura verso le nuove acquisizioni scientifiche. Conferì una nuova impronta all'agricoltura locale: tracciò canali, adottò nuovi sistemi razionali di coltivazione, fece piantare duecentomila nuove viti e tentò la coltivazione delle barbabietole. Fu nominato sindaco del piccolo comune nel maggio 1832 a ventidue anni e tale carica mantenne fino al febbraio 1849. I francesi mi chiamano il "cavaliere delle ore 11" poiché mi apro solo in pieno sole. Per la stessa ragione gli anglosassoni mi definiscono "sundial plant" (la pianta meridiana) o semplicemente "sun plant". In Vietnam divento "Hoa mười giờ" cioè il fiore delle 10 in punto. Purtroppo sul balcone di Nora da qualche giorno a questa parte produco moltissimi boccioli che non riescono ad aprirsi a causa delle grigie giornate, un vero peccato poiché non ho più molto tempo a disposizione, con il freddo dovrò alzare bandiera bianca e dare appuntamento alla prossima estate quando i semini, raccolti quest'anno e messi nella nursery intorno a marzo, daranno nuove piantine da trapiantare. Però so che Nora ha una grande riserva di foto (l'ho vista ritrarmi molto spesso nelle mie varie versioni di colore), quindi vi potrò venire a trovare ancora e ancora ;-) A presto ! Questa foto è un ricordo della bellissima giornata trascorsa in visita alla preziosa cittadina Catalana che vi consiglio di non perdere se capitate da quelle parti. Il ponte che vedete è di origine romanica (secolo XI), ma ha subito vari rimaneggiamenti, come ad esempio le torri fortificate, di epoca medioevale più tarda, che furono erette per far pagare il pedaggio. L'ultimo intervento fu la ricostruzione di un paio di arcate che erano state fatte saltare dai repubblicani, durante la guerra civile, per impedire il passo alle truppe franchiste. La particolare struttura angolare è legata all'esigenza di sfruttare punti saldi rocciosi nel letto del fiume (il Fluvià) per una posa sicura dei piloni. Oggi è meritatamente il simbolo della città. Il suo nome significa Ponte Vecchio. Qui sotto una foto (cliccabile) che mostra la torre fortificata costruita all'ingresso del ponte e quindi della città. ... ma non sono di quelle "vere" ... Comunque anch'io da piccola produco una schiumetta bianca per proteggermi, ma lo faccio di nascosto, non mi vedete facilmente. Invece da adulta ho una vistosa livrea dalle bande rosse e nere. Il mio nome scientifico è, come al solito, molto più altisonante: Cercopis sanguinolenta. Sono una vera vegetariana, mi nutro della linfa di erbe e piccoli arbusti, solo occasionalmente danneggio cereali, orticole e vite. Qui sono in un prato ligure, ma mi potete trovare un po' in tutta l'Europa, escluso l'estremo nord. Da grande sono capace di volare, ma più spesso amo saltare e per questo gli anglosassoni mi chiamano "froghopper" (rana saltatrice). Allium roseum, commonly called rosy garlic, is an edible, Old World species of garlic native to much of Europe and the Mediterranean region, northern Africa, and western Asia; and naturalized in the Azores, and elsewhere. A. roseum grows naturally to about 1.5 feet high in well-drained soils, blooming from late spring to early summer. Inflorescences are umbels. The loose, fragrant florets are about 3 inches long, having six pallid petals apiece, that are pinkish to lilac in hue. The smell and flavour of the bulb is powerful enough to drive squirrels and browsing deer away from gardens, where they are planted as ornamental flowers. Progettato da Renzo Piano per le Colombiadi del 1992, il nome e il design si ispirano al bigo, ovvero la gru usata per il carico e lo scarico delle merci nel porto di Genova. Il Bigo possiede, oltre a una funzione di immagine, anche una funzione strutturale (sostenere il tendone della piazza delle feste lì vicino) e una turistica: possiede infatti un ascensore panoramico che sale fino a 40 m di altezza e ruota a 360 gradi; al suo interno, la vista della città di Genova è guidata, con sottofondo musicale, tramite pannelli scritti e voce guida in diverse lingue che indicano i palazzi e le strutture degne di nota.
