Feathers of ice

I love seeing the beautiful patterns made of ice, that form in puddles or along the edge of a creek or river. Have seen very little this winter, it has been so mild a lot of the time - this photo is from my archives. It was taken on 16 April 2010 in a puddle at Priddis Greens Golf Course, when we spent the day botanizing the wooded areas around the edge of the greens.
