Northern Gashawk,

When the birding is slow, my camera catches whatever else there is in sight, LOL! Northern GAShawk - that's the name jokingly given to 'planes amongst my birding friends : ) When we are very lucky, we might also see a Northern GOShawk. Have you ever watched a very distant object, wondering if it's a Swainson's Hawk or a Red-tailed Hawk, only to foolishly realize that it was nothing but a metal 'plane? I alway enjoy seeing these 'plane vapour trails. We stopped on our walk at Bebo Grove on Sunday to watch this plane and a second one, both leaving a trail, and at one point they looked like they crossed at rather close quarters! As you can see, we've been enjoying wonderful sunshine and blue skies recently - where were these all summer, ha??
