A girdle made of snails... It dissolved a few minutes later. ;) (I wonder what they were looking for ... the whole tree seemed full of snails while its neighbour was totally free of them).

Now that I said that I have never seen this cloud formation before it seems to insist on showing me that it is quite common. Hmmm. This was an evening a few days later. Still quite warm but already expecting zero at night. I wonder if these very extreme temperature differences cause these skies? Really, I can't remember having seen them before, and now it's apparently an every-day-thing.

This is the only cloud formation that comes close to what I saw yesterday. Somewhat nicer because of the landscape - although not that pinkish. ;) This was at 22.30 pm ... with a very long-lasting sunset that transformed into a sunrise later. ;)

Can't remember that I have ever seen such a banded cloud formation. This time I would have loved to have a wide angle lens as theses bands covered a much larger part of the sky than this picture shows. It looked quite strange...
