Paul Simon - Kodachrome Tour, 1973 Photo #4

Probably my all time favorite concert, this and the preceding photos were taken in Hartford in the spring of 1973. This was Paul Simon's first concert on the Kodachrome tour and the first time he had played without Garfunkel in years.
It was an amazing night. He played with Los Incas and sang the most unbelievable version of Bridge Over Troubled Water backed up by a fabulous gospel choir.
He also played the most breathtakingly beautiful acoustic version of "American Song" - I was really sad when I heard the album version, it seemed so over orchestrated compared to what had been simple and perfect.
I took these pictures with a clunky and ancient but great old Argus someone gave to me. I developed them in a friends darkroom. and they're less than perfect I know, but I love them as reminders of the one of the best concerts ever.

much like Bowie's TVC15.
(until I read an interview with him)
