Re-posted for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: OUTDOORS AT NIGHT Probably my all time favorite concert, this was taken in Hartford, Connecticut, in the spring of 1973. This was Paul Simon's first concert on the Kodachrome tour and the first time he had played without Garfunkel in years. It was an amazing night. He played with the Peruvian band Los Incas and also sang the most unbelievable version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" backed up by a fabulous gospel choir. He played the most breathtakingly beautiful acoustic version of "American Song". I was sad when I heard the album version, it seemed so over orchestrated compared to what had been simple and perfect. I took these pictures with a clunky, ancient but great Argus camera someone gave to me. I developed them in a friend's darkroom. and they're less than perfect, I know, but I love them as reminders of the one of the best concerts ever. I confess this is a little bit of a cheat because it's not "outdoors" but I couldn't find any of those so I just followed the "at night" theme.
