I admit that this composition has its limitations, but it's colourful, jolly and summery in a cosy sort of way, and the occasional "D Certificate" picture - if it's one of a set of pictures taken on the same excursion - can I think justify its inclusion.

Always been fond of hollyhocks and always had them in my various gardens. I see them in the wild on my walks in the Mountains of Central Spain and love seeing them here too!

Yes, they've long been associated with olde cottages. The heat and drought we're experiencing here at the moment isn't good for walking or for photography, but (as I discovered yesterday) the Hollyhocks seem to like it.
