The tiny people give a sense of grandeur to the monument and sky.
Howard Somerville club has replied to Isisbridge clubA camera that offers a choice of aspect ratios facilitates this, the viewfinder image being the chosen shape, in this case square. The new camera has this feature, my primary reason for buying it.
Ditto 3:2, 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios.

Howard Somerville club has replied to Isisbridge clubIsisbridge club has replied to Howard Somerville cluband he left one of his helpful cropping suggestions, which in this case was deleted.
It simply involved cropping out that hole in the foliage about halfway up,
with a corresponding slight reduction in the top blue.
Apart from tidying up the edge, this would make the memorial and cloud more of a focal point.
John Sheldon club has replied to Isisbridge clubIsisbridge club has replied to John Sheldon clubI don't pretend to be a landscape photographer either, nor any kind of photographer, being just a happy snapper with an automatic. However, Howard and I have had years of friendly argument over cropping and composition. He is a stickler for rules, whilst I am more visceral, relying mostly on serendipity, but both of us are 'heretics' when it comes to cloning.
Howard Somerville club has replied to John Sheldon clubI could easily move the runners further to the right, but cropping the left of the frame would place the Albert Hall too close to it.
