Provincial Society Ale & Ride (10) - 1 January 2020

On New Years Day 2020, The Provincial Society operated an Ale & Ride event from Gosport and Fareham Bus Stations using a number of preserved vehicles. By around 11am, three buses had arrived at Gosport. The unique Wadham Stringer bodied ACE Cougar H523CTR, formerly no. 3 of People's Provincial was the first to leave with a good crowd on board. Also visible in this shot are Portsmouth City Transport Leyland Titan PD2 112/ORV989 and (just) Provincial Leyland National 2 A301KJT.

I don't think the grim setting of Gosport's shabby bus station has changed much - except to deteriorate - since People's Provincial actually operated. I was also surprised to note that First was operating no service.
