On New Years Day 2020, The Provincial Society operated an Ale & Ride event from Gosport and Fareham Bus Stations using a number of preserved vehicles. After my Gosport shoot [qv], I had taken a break in Havant and then made my way to Fareham where I saw four participants which included First Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart 42728/T728REU and the unique Wadham Stringer bodied ACE Cougar H523CTR, formerly People's Provincial no. 3, which had arrived from Gosport. As had been the case at Gosport, First were running no service so there plenty of room for the Ale & Ride buses and a couple of National Express vehicles. Also visible in this shot are Portsmouth City Transport Leyland Titan PD2 112/ORV989 and Provincial Leyland National 2 A301KJT. I don't think the grim setting of Gosport's shabby bus station has changed much - except to deteriorate - since People's Provincial actually operated.
