A Busy Day at Southampton - 10 January 2016

January is not the busiest month for cruise ships at Southampton and the weather which greeted the start of 2016 had, to say the least, been unsettled. Nevertheless, there were breaks in today's stormy rain and I arrived at the port at a good time for a visit planned to see three ships.

Cunard's Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth had both arrived from Hamburg and were preparing for long cruises with first ports of call of Ponta Delgada and Madeira respectively. The rather smaller Saga Sapphire, seen here on berth 102, had arrived from Ponta Delgada and would depart for Madeira. In this picture, she is attended by the bunker vessel Skaw Provider.
