New Homes in Hilsea - 25 January 2015

The demolition of the former Southdown garage at Hilsea was a sad event but, as is often the case with such buildings today, it had been allowed to get into such a state that what might have been avoidable became inevitable. The flats now being constructed on the site by Mansell Homes and Portsmouth City Council look fairly attractive. When I saw them today for the first time in a while I thought that they were ate last nearing completion but, on closer inspection, there is still plenty of work to do. The rate of progress since my photograph of 31 March 2014 seems to have been very slow.
