Electrical History (2) - 23 January 2015

Recently, my eye was caught by an old electrical cabinet at the junction of Hulbert Road and Queens Annes Drive in Bedhampton. I waited for my photograph until the lighting was right to show it to good effect. The very worn exterior is strangely attractive and bears a cast shield with the City of Portsmouth crest and the inscription 'City of Portsmouth Electricity Undertaking' from which it should be possible to date it.
