In the background is a tree with pink leaves (sorry, I don't know its name), but since it was done with full zoom, even f9 gave a very small depth of field of around a foot..
As for the birds, I am sure they love each other very much!!

They are actually under a tree, and conveniently enough, were in the sunlight at the time!
You can just make out traces of shadows on the fence.

They are sitting on the fence at the end of my garden, and come here regularly. I am sure they live locally... Behind them in the distance is a tree with small deep pink coloured flowers. I had a close look at it today, thinking I might figure out what it is for you, but I couldn't!! Sorry!
