Poor engines, they all look a though they'd rather be in their sheds

Thank you so much for a very quick visit. You are right! This turned out to be the coldest night of the year, around minus 12. As you can see, plenty of snow on the ground. The only good thing is warm water in their boilers had a hot firebox waiting for tomorrows duties.

I am really pleased that you like it. A very cold night, nothing going anywhere...As much time as I wanted..
For me it is the way the smoke blows around which gives the atmosphere, and hence sets the shutter speed..

All these locos had worked the day, and would be due out again next day, so they are kept warm on a low fire... Plenty of opportunity to walk round the yard, and I got a lot of pics that night!!
