The locomotive is an 0-4-4-0 , number 99-1568-7, on the 750mm gauge Jöhstadt railway. Unusually, the two power bogies are 'back to back' with their cylinders in the middle of the locomotive.

My dear Peter,

That's one hour later...

You have caught the unusually scene carefully! ( the two power bogies are 'back to back' with their cylinders in the middle of the locomotive.)
Also it is a wonderful Picture!

My Dear Füsun,

Thank you so much!! It is amazing how much the weather had changed in the hour. Snow!! I am sure that the controller is keen to keep his railway running, and walking purposefully towards the appointed place.
I am so pleased that you like this very unusual locomotive in this scene.

Love Peter

Hello, Peter. You were amazed at the arrangement of the cylinders. The Saxon IV K is a Meyer-type locomotive. The drive principle is slightly different from that of the Mallet machines.

Winter is of course always nice for the photographer, because in the cold air the steam comes out much better. The chances in the Erzgebirge are quite good. Even if the museum train doesn't run that often, you can be lucky. But the last winter was difficult here too.
