Nice catch, Andy.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Anton Cruz Carro clubI researched that helicopter crash and found bits of metal from the helicopter at the exact impact sight.
The crash was in 1988 (I think, from memory of my research) and I found the small pieces in 2011 to 13 at places where you need a bit of climbing experience, which I have.
I didn't look into the crash out of morbid fascination, but becuse I was exploring the area in depth in those 2 years anyway as I had the time and transport to come here twice a week. It just added a degree of interest to my explorations!
It wasn't the Pico de Miel though, but Cancho Largo, at the other (higher) end of the Sierra de La Cabrera.
There is a monument near the crash sight which can only be scrambled up to to see. I have posted photos of it on Panoramio but I cannot currently access many of my archive photos so can't now show it. Sorry,
