In danger of being knocked over by cyclists!

In danger of being knocked over by cyclists!
I hadn't thought I was in danger because I never see cyclists here but as I was lining up this shot, this chap whizzed past me using some choice Madrileño invective - and justfiably so! I should have known it was a cycle route. Served me right!
This pedestrian and cycle pathway lies above the M40 motorway ring road.

Gudrun, micritter, tiabunna, Beatrice Degan(MARS) and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo

All the bike had on it was this guy with supreme confidence that all would fall out of his way. When I didn't see him, he did swerve round me and uttered a hearty traditional Spanish folk greeting of the earthier sort, which was the first time I saw or heard him.
And the fault was entirely mine!

....well I can understand the situation very well
here in Padua on the sidewalks marked by cycle paths divided by a line from pedestrian tracks, you have to be as careful as on a war path!
More and more often: No more rules either for the youngest or the oldest cyclists;in fact the latter are tremendously bad and seem intent on making a strike with pedestrians as skittles...

However, hopping here and there I keep training....:-)
Risking your life: what a a great picture, Andy!

Yikes! Well taken, but if there's no separate walking path I'd have thought it up to cyclists to avoid pedestrians.

I'm standing on a great big painted bycicle sign, George, so it really was my fault!

Thank you, Bea! As explained to George, I was standing on a huge white bycicle sign painted on the path, which I just didn't see (concentrating too much on the photo!).
