Roman Road

Its position on this steep slope perhaps indicates two things.
Firstly, rain water rushes down here contributing to erosion.
Secondly, people found the stones too useful in situ to help with tackling the slope and so they were less tempted than on the flatter sections to take the stones for their own use.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Gudrun clubThe chief bugbear (and the cause of more erosion) is the motor cross or rallying (I forget the correct term for mountain rough-terrain motor-cycling) brigade and a very noisy bugbear at that! I'm pretty sure it's illegal here but even so they come and ruin the pleasure of others!
I really like this one Andy.............the light has brought out the shapes of the stones beautifully. I like the low perspective too. Have another star!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton clubI've walked here in the wet and it's a pleasure to walk on the stones, out of the mud! The flatter sections can be a struggle when the path is flooded. This is one walk I would do in wellies if it had rained (if I had any here in Spain - mine are in Cornwall of course where they are generally in more frequent use!)
