Still, I am used to it and always seem to manage to keep the camera dry - somehow!! I do always make sure I'm in a place where I can wedge myself tightly into a crack if I see a whoppa coming! I see this is the only one I've posted on ip. I have loads, most of which were on Pano.

I wrecked a camera is heavy storms like this, Andy. I was foolish enough to try and change a lens, salt spray and rain got into the works. It was never the same again.

Between taking this shot and getting soaked I had a split second to turn round and shelter the camera from the worst of it and it worked!
I only use a mobile phone and a tiny pocket digital so that they easily slip into my pocket, or up my shirt or wherever affords the greatest protection at the moment, Amelia! I wouldn't risk expensive equipment in this way. Even if I had any; which I don't!! :o)

Not all that risky, Marie-claire! Only once in many years of doing this have I been at risk and that was when two waves came from different directions and started to climb up over each other and crashed onto the cliffs from a much greater height than the other waves. If I hadn't been clinging onto the rocks very hard, I wouldn't be commenting now! But only that once!

I love watching the waves in Portreath! I have a video clip of them but I'm in the background going, ummm, ummm, to someone who was talking to me and wishing they would shut up! Apart from that it's a good video...as is this shot! YS.

This was taken about a mile to the west of Portreath but still the same sea!

... nice action shot, with unusual hues ...

The only camera I had for about 3 years was my Nokia N95 cameraphone. Useless as a phone but quite a good camera!!
The weather was a mixed bag that day. I also took some shots in glorious sunshine about half an hour later! The light was strange at times.
