I love this, Andy. The colours of the heather and other wild flowers look wonderful against the 'fence'. Incidentally, this would be known as a stone fence in Norway, so a belated HFF. ;-)

Well, it's as close to a fence as you get in the granite areas of Cornwall. And for the past 7-8 years, Herb I have taken photos only in the granite areas of Cornwall and Central Spain. Also some in Madrid but there again, not too many fences - so you see I don't have many fence photos to choose from. In fact I have nearly run out!!!!!
And also yes, I too am very familiar with Northern English drystone walls - I just don't have any photos of the years I went to The Lakes and the Pennines!

i'd say that this hedge counts for sure as plant vs structure! what a beautiful way to create division of space. and a really nice composition showing off this method.
