I've always disliked these bland floury things. Just as well since they are anathema to diabetics!
I dislike sponge cakes, muffins and doughnuts for much the same reason!

Really? Mexican churros must be different, then. They're skinny and pretty crispy, maybe the Spanish ones are fatter. Cinnamony, not bland.

Thanks for the link. They're the same (no cinnamon though - that would be a slight improvement). I just don't like them!
I like food. I like to taste new things. I only really dislike one thing; tinned tomato soup (all other tomato products are fine with me). As a child I liked everything except this soup and pastry and spongy things. I didn't have churros until my 20s but wasn't impressed.

It's funny how texture has so much to do with what we don't like. I can't stand egg whites that are even slightly too soft, or pudding (American Jello-type). However, I grew to love whipped cream, yoghurt, sour cream and other squishy things. Wouldn't touch them as a kid. Go figure...
