Mule Ears

Mule Ears
One of our last stops on the second day of our stay in Big Bend was at Mule Ears Overlook. We had our evening meal there before going on to our campsite. We had talked about hiking to the formation known as Mule Ears but were too tired and so just took photos from the overlook.

Nouchetdu38, Schussentäler, , tiabunna and 18 other people have particularly liked this photo

In the thumbnail this looks like and abandoned bothy in the Scottish Highlands. All 3 photos are excellent, and my favourite is the second PiP.

Such cool shots. Neat formations to appreciate against that lovely sky and within the arid, beautiful scenery. I bet it's not a very nice place to be in August! :D

Thank you so much for the visit, Ron! Gosh I've missed you so, and your commentary had me snickering at the start and continued to entertain me so joyfully all the way through. Thank you for not taking it personally that I haven't been around--I feel terribly guilty for hiding from the world and even abandoning those who I hold so close to me...

I'm glad that you folks are all doing ok but my heart aches for dear Neal, who just cannot fully understand all of what's going on I expect. :( Poor fellow...that just sucks beyond words. :( I feel so sad for everyone who cannot understand why they cannot go outside and mix with others...what a bummer. Innocent victims. I hope that he doesn't feel that he's being punished for something and doesn't know what it is. *sigh*

Loved the report on the water line but hate that your water's been turned off for so long. Hopefully it will be worked out soon--it's gotta be aggravating to watch so little work happening and so much lollygagging instead. Grr.

Nancy certainly deserves a reward for all she's done to beautify the grounds though I can understand her desire to stop after having done so much. I know how that is...I cleared most of the brush by hand on the lower half of our property but there's a section left that I just have no will to clear. I don't want people watching me and it's right next to the closer neighbors. I don't want them coming over to talk to me or keep an eye on me or whatever so I just stopped my project at the point that I felt they'd be tempted to come and give me their 2 cents. No thanks, I'll just leave it wild! Truthfully though, there is plenty I could do but I just don't feel like it, heh.

Let's hope you can go on that backpacking trip! Who knows what any of us will be able to do at this point, it's all up in the air. And let's cross our fingers that you'll get to go to Ireland next year. Gosh, who knows, right? I will guess that whenever international travel is open for business it's going to be a snarled mess for a while as things spin up again. I cannot even imagine all of the broken systems...it's going to be a terrible mess for a long while I guess...there goes my chess-moves thought patterns again. The "big picture" is comprised of countless bits and pieces and so many are broken now, so new connections will need to be made for something like an airline flight to happen...can't help but wonder about it all...

Anyway, it was lovely hearing from you too, Ron...you are fabulous! And now I'm off to bed! :) Take care!

An interesting formation indeed, Ron. Great images, but sometimes it's best just to use the telephoto rather than extra walking.
