Yellow-headed Blackbird

I've posted photos of three Blackbirds today, this the Yellow-headed Blackbird, Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus, a regular visitor at our feeders but a large bird that drives all the other birds away.

Have a nice weekend.
We see red wings rarely as well as Brewers, at about the same amount as you I think. The picture of the Brewers you got is totally outstanding and I enjoyed the immature redwing too!
Will write in a bit, it's lunchtime and Chicken is yelling for attention!
Thank you for the comments on my Candy Sticks picture! I'm glad you like it but I have to admit that I am not a fan of that picture, though it DOES show the subject well enough. Too hard to separate from the background visually and I didn't have the skill to fix that in PS at the time. I have always wanted the opportunity to go back and find more of these, now that I would be able to take better pictures. However, I'm really glad that my personal views are not yours! :) They are such a prize to find! You make me feel so good about even my beginner-level photography, thank you!! :)
I really loved reading about Nancy's rock obsession. It's just so funny because she is as crazy as I am about my passions. I think it's wonderful. Pregnant with a rock indeed! :D LOLOL, your story had me giggling, you silly fool of a Took! :D Heh...I do love your sense of humor, Ron. It's just great. Hilarious about the van (jokingly) bottoming out due to the huge haul of rocks being carried home, hahahahahahah!! And omg...the rocks dumped outside the parks, I'm rolling around picturing Nancy's shame-face as each treasure is surreptitiously dropped to the ground as the tears roll down her cheekies...roflmao, she is a lady after my own heart *cackle*...you should see all the rocks I gather as I walk up and down the driveway and over in the pond area, etc. They keep falling out of my pockets because they're too full and I have to support the weight with my hands! Then I have to turn my pockets out carefully over the sink to brush out all of the dirt and tiny pebbles. *endless snickering* You are very kind to indulge her rock-hounding so kindly! :) Steve is really interested as my projects go along and loves to see how they look from one step to the next. As well, he enjoys contributing to the collections too! :)
And, I too have been known to hide a special thing for picking up on the way back and then can't find it at all! Or I'll try to remember the spot a subject is for the way back, but then I just can't find it! LOL! Too funny.
Ok, off I go...I have a letter to answer from you but it is going to have to wait for a bit! :) Have a great day...it's so cold today (only 32-35 but still yipes!)
