Jumbo Rocks

Jumbo Rocks
This area of Joshua Tree National Park is called Jumbo Rocks and this and the inset photos were taken there. The whole park could probably be named Jumbo Rocks, but by some chance only this area has that name.

LOLOL, I love what you had to say about the whole place being called "Jumbo Rocks"...too funny. I have to say, these rock formations are just beautiful. All of your pictures are super. Such awesome shapes.

Thanks too for your comment on my dahlia! Yes, I have been down the same road as you: planted them once, knew the frost would kill them, didn't dig them up...tubers died, never replanted. End of story! :D I just can't be bothered. Also, the ground squirrels rule the world here and I'm done fighting with them! Go ahead...EAT my bulbs and tubers even when they're poisonous! Throw them off to the side after digging them up! I don't care anymore! :D

And yes, our back and forth conversations were certainly in my mind when writing my post about leaving replies to other's comments...it makes the most sense to me anyway. :)

As you know, and we have discussed this on a Meadowmum photo, very familiar rock scenery for me! Fine shot and PiPs, Ron!

It certainly deserves the name. What an amazing place. I had to look up how these gigantic rocks formed and came across this: www.nps.gov/jotr/learn/nature/geologicformations.htm.
