Upper Grassi Lake

Upper Grassi Lake
After traveling through Kootenay National Park in British Columbia we ended up in Canmore, Alberta, in Banff National Park. We spent several days there hiking and exploring, but the weather was awful with heavy rain and we finally gave it up. The day this photo was taken was dry until late afternoon and we hiked to Grassi Lakes. This is Upper Grassi Lake, a popular hiking and climbing destination. We photographed some orchids here and a Great Horned Owl in the little "cave" in the upper center of the photo (she can be seen better in the inset). The photos are all my wife's.
