Mount Robson Provincial Park

This is where we've been the last four days. We left Edmonton Monday evening, June 26, and drove to Hinton, Alberta, where we spent the night. Early Tuesday morning we drove on to Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia and picked up our permits at the visitors' center. Shouldering our backpacks we started out for Berg Lake. We went about half the way, 11km (7 miles), Tuesday to Whitehorn where we camped for the night. After a breakfast of instant oatmeal and coffee we headed out again on Wednesday morning and hiked another 13 km (8 miles) including a grueling 4 km climb up Emperor Hill to Berg Lake and beyond to Robson Pass. After setting up camp and eating our evening meal we hiked another 4km (2.5 miles) up and back down the Mumm Basin Trail, where this photo and the insets were taken. We had planned on hiking out Friday but the weather reports were for rain and so we hiked out Thursday, all 24km (15 miles). We did the trip partly because family in Edmonton all had strep throat but also to prove to ourselves we could still do it, and we did, though barely, for a total of 52km (32 miles) and several thousand feet of elevation.

I honestly do not think you have anything to prove. Sometimes that idea means people miss the real reason to do something... just enjoy it.. it isnt a challenge from the gods.
