Prairie Smoke

This wildflower, Geum triflorum, is also known as Old Man's Whiskers, and is found mainly on the eastern side of the mountains, in dry areas where sagebrush or pine predominate. This photo was taken on Manastash Ridge in eastern Washington in a rather dark area where photography was quite difficult., thus the shallow depth of field.
