Another wildflower photographed near our home, this is Prairie Smoke, Geum triflorum.

We had found this lovely wildflower in different places but were delighted to find it near our home this summer. It is Geum triflorum, Prairie Smoke.

Here's another wildflower we found and photographed a few days ago in the area of Medical Lake, Washington. This is Prairie Smoke, Geum triflorum, the first flower open and the other two not far behind.

Geum macrophyllum, the Large-leaved Avens, grows across Canada and throughout the western and northern USA. This example was photographed along the Harding Icefields trail near Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park.

This wildflower, Geum triflorum, is also known as Old Man's Whiskers, and is found mainly on the eastern side of the mountains, in dry areas where sagebrush or pine predominate. This photo was taken on Manastash Ridge in eastern Washington in a rather dark area where photography was quite difficult., thus the shallow depth of field.
