My first Pileated Woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus)


I have never seen a pileated woodpecker in nature. But today I was surprised to see one only 50 ft away from the path where I was walking in the nature center.

Doerthe club has replied to Ronald Losure clubThis part of the nature center, as you have seen, has some densely wooded areas with mature trees and even though I have heard them often, I had never been able to catch a glimpse of one.
