How I assess if the group is worth to keep, or should be deleted:

1) Group is indeed administrated by the case name only. If there are co-admins with Club account, then mark with k-name for the possible Stage 2. If other co-admins with Guest account, check when they have posted for the last time.

2) Open administrators homepage and evaluate the activity. When is the last post? Any other evidence for example on Guestbook?

3) See the latest contributions by group members. Sometimes people may suggest groups other than their own, only based on the topic. So, there can be contributions by non members. Not easy to find out what exactly are contributions by members. But when trying to find out, it also gives a good overview on group activity.

4) Have an overall look on members view: www.ipernity.com/group/composingtheabstract/network/4
If only few members really contribute, and not for a long time, then considered deletion.

5) Search for thematical duplicates.

Beyond this assesment, I believe we've talked about keeping interesting unused groups (for example a good collection of over 20 photos of a topic that isn't likely represented anywhere else), but adding - closed - or something like that (I can't remember what we came up with) to indicate that it is for viewing only.

Are we going to suggest to new admins to update the names and descriptions into at least 3 languages? I don't think we should insist, but it could be a good opportunity to remind them that it's a good idea.

But since there seem to many Guest accounts, which has only one or few groups, we may have to open one thread for those.

Yes, I was really a bit shocked myself, it's about 80% of my more than 200 groups that are only administered by a single guest account. Maybe that's also because I joined many of these groups in the early days of the groups, but the sheer number surprised me, I wouldn't have expected that.

But the impression that there are only a few users who administer these groups was deceptive, I just moved them to the top of the list so that it is easier to create a separate thread with them. The vast majority of groups are administered by very different guest accounts, that's what I wanted to show (but couldn't because of the character limit). It seems as if every user really did open groups, which then ended up like this as a result of the account status change.

In the next few days I will make another thread with my groups that are obviously no longer being used (for some of them I can judge that very well, for example because my document is the most recent in the group and I know roughly when I posted it there). And groups that contain very few postings (most of them by me) and also have very few users - connected with an administrator who only uses a guest account.
In other words, groups that can basically be deleted with an "accelerated procedure" because they are obviously no longer used.

I first pick the cases where those Guest accounts have multiple groups to admin, and start new topics for them. I hope you don't mind me editing your comment indicate the cases where new topic opened.

Have became Guests and inactive less than 3 years ago. So, maybe better to wait.

Huh, what is this?!? Before I edited this post it was displayed complete, after editing it is cutted down?!? Come on, it takes me 2 hours to go through all of my groups and have a look at administrators and their club status. ;-(

The comment fields are limited to a certain size.
That is why I had to subdivide the amendments to the statutes when I published them.
When there were changes afterwards, I also had parts cut off.
That was a nasty experience.
Fortunately, I was able to reconstruct it.

Yes, I am aware of the character limit, which is why I had copied the text before sending it. It still fit into one post.
But when I edited it later, I had something else in my clipboard in the meantime - and then it suddenly didn't fit in anymore...

Topic was "To capture the diversity and similarities in terms of architecture, landscapes, scenery and people of the countries of the European Union.". Because it is only active used by 3 members it can´t fulfill this topic. Also a group named "Europe" should caintain specific photos ABOUT the european union instead of photos made IN the europe union.

I don´t know what to do with groups like this....

The issue with the group is that the administrator is not a club member AND is not active since 2018. No need to judge if the group is viable or not. I saw that the 3 members contributing have their photos in many other groups as well.

In my opinion it is time to do the CLOSE the group with the notice (in the group description and with Sami's CLOSED or READ ME images) about how the group doesn't have an active administrator and so it will close if someone doesn't request to become admin. I think in the image he posts he either suggests other groups or albums, for the contributors images.

You can tell Sami and he will post the stuff to the groups if you make him admin (the way he and Rob are doing it?). If you don't know what I'm talking about, check with them.
