Kinder Low

Scanned Ilford FP4 film. Scanned in 2014 on Epson Perfection. Taken in Summer 1999
I had a few years of using B/W film. I took very few good or even interesting photographs but was pleased with my efforts on this Day.
The rock is weathered sandstone called Millstone Grit. The peat land on the mountain top severely eroded ( acid rain in those days!). A project called Moors for the Future has restored the area with planting and efforts to retain water on the mountain tops. The are now turns green again in the Spring and is no longer just a brown desert.
