Nice shot Colin, Yes I think Whoopers migrate down from Iceland and Scandinavia to over winter here in nature reserves and wetland trusts, some may go on to warmer climates in Southern Europe. I have a trip planned next January to photograph these at Welney.

yes they are regular over us but its more rare that they stay more than an overnight stop
