I still have very limited internet from my new home, so I do apologise for not being more active on ipernity of late. Hopefully this soon will be rectified. Best viewed on black. The view from the patio of my new home, with plenty of Friday fences and the Tollgate Islands in the distance. I'm afraid I have no internet yet other than my phone, so I'll have to be largely absent from ipernity for now. What's more, I can't see how to add to groups from the phone settings. As a matter of interest, the young bird in my previous image flew off just 2 days after that photo was taken. It's remarkable how quickly this Little Wattlebird chick is growing. This was taken today (27 September), my previous image of it (PiP, also with last week's fence photo) was taken just ten days ago on 17/9. As the bird is looking over the fence, I'm doing something similar and currently moving house. I'm afraid I shall be completely offline for a while after this flying visit. This Australian bird is a member of the Honeyeater family and is known as a Little Wattlebird. They eat nectar from flowers, but also insects and seeds. I was surprised when it made a nest in a wall-mounted hanging pot plant basket. Which also meant that the wires around the basket became a fence around the nest - almost certainly the smallest this week. Check the next two images in the PiPs, taken over several days later. For Macro Mondays weekly project No 377: theme "Banknote". This is a section of the Australian $50 note. It is soft plastic and has a clear window, as shown, with the Southern Cross stars and the value also shown.

Auckland viewed from the park on Mt Eden volcano site and crater, The distant peak, just right of centre above another viewing area, is the cone of another former volcano. As the information sign in the second PiP notes, the volcanoes began erupting in this area some 150,000 years ago. Typically each erupted only once. The most recent was 800 years ago ...... are they finished? As I noted several days ago, outside activities (good) are likely to make my involvement here occasional for a while.
