How many?

A great sky at Wollongong helped by a moist tropical airstream. In the midst of it, the local parachutists were doing a jump. How many can you count? (You may need to enlarge to see them).

Main shrine of Nan Tien Temple

This is situated behind the Front Shrine of the Nan Tien Temple. The entire complex is the largest Buddhist Temple in the Southern Hemisphere. In the PiPs are the incense burner central to the main entrance, the interior with Buddhas and the large gong on the right of the verandah. Wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday followed by a good weekend.

History!

Wollongong has a community museum, which is where I found this recreation of a historic classroom, complete with slates on the desks (though not the proper slate pencils which are apparently unobtainable). What really struck me was that, with a different building and without the abacus, it was a good match with my earlier classrooms ... just a "few" years ago. :-) HBM and have a good week, everyone.

Mother-of Millions

Mother of Millions is the common name for several related plants and hybrids, native to Africa and Madagascar. Introduced as a garden plant, it is now a serious weed in parts of Australia. It spreads by producing many plantlets (see notes) and is drought resistant. Worst of all, the plant and flowers are toxic to livestock.
