Outback panorama
Out on the road between Boulia and Winton in western Queensland. It's a big and mostly dry and flat country - an ancient landscape with hills that have eroded over the millenia to flat tops. It can be hard to believe that a few million years ago it had a much wetter climate and lush vegetation. Stitched panorama, view large - see PiP also.
Maloneys bench
This bench is at Maloneys Beach, at the entrance to the National Park. Late additional note . This was taken on a day of strong winds, the cloud was largely formed by waves in the high level winds and had what are called 'lenticular' characteristics.
Happy Bench Monday and have a good week, everyone.

Painting
My talented daughter is a painter in her spare time. She is visiting this weekend and brought along her latest oil painting for me to photograph. As a blatant plug for anyone considering purchasing one of her paintings, you will find them here. Best viewed large on black.
Happy outback fence
This was taken in the outback, not far from my Friday fence image of last week. In the PiP are more Mulla Mulla flowers (as in my previous posting), taken near where this main image was taken.
It's that time of the week, so I guess it's Happy Outback Friday Fence, everyone!

Mulla Mulla flowers
Mulla Mulla flowers are native to the arid inland areas across Australia. I'm fairly sure these are the Pink Mulla Mulla variety. We happened to be there at the right time to see many flowering. See also PiP.
The full size! Road trains #4
I have realised that my earlier road train images may not have conveyed their full size. When they're in a side road, or turning from one, that size becomes more apparent. Best viewed large - also see PiP of a double deck cattle truck.

Community garden
Our local community group successfully applied to our shire council for permission to build a community garden in a corner of this park. It has been quite a success for those involved. The fence is needed to keep out the local mob of kangaroos!
Happy Bench Monday, everyone, and best wishes for the coming week.
White-necked Herons
These are found across Australia. The speckling on the neck indicates that these are juveniles. Maybe best viewed large.
