Ocean photographer competition

While in Sydney, I was particularly keen to visit the Australian Maritime Museum, which was hosting a display of winners in the global Ocean Photographer of the Year competition. The images were stunning and I'd think most photographers would struggle to achieve these results above water, let alone with (as in most cases) underwater housings etc. I know I'd be out of my depth! Footnote: somehow this image partially duplicated at midpoint!

Near Chinatown

This little pedestrian area is near Chinatown in Sydney and, as it was just after the Lunar New Year celebrations, the lanterns were still on display. Best viewed on black. Happy Bench Monday and have a good week, everyone.

Ancient Egypt

My main reason for visiting the Australian Museum (see also previous image) was to visit the special exhibition "Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs" . I found it absolutely stunning with some remarkable preserved works (see PiPs).

Wall mural

This mural was on the end of an old "Terrace House" in Glebe. It depicts the way the street outside at the right would have looked back in the 1950s, before Sydney closed its very extensive tram services. Happy Wednesday Wall, everyone.

Murrays Coach - by BCI

The Murrays coach on which I returned from Sydney. I asked the driver about it and was told it is a BCI. Since returning home I have found they are a Perth (Australia) company.

Bench and Bin Chickens

Seen in a Sydney park, the birds near the bench are Australian White Ibis , generally known by the more unkind name of "Bin Chickens" because of their scavenging habit in cities. They are found across most of Australia, most commonly in the east. Happy Bench Monday and have a good week, everyone.
