Thanks, Pam. I suspect they would look much the way you describe here tonight - it's all changing pretty constantly and this was taken a few days ago: in the same way the moon would now be out of the top of this shot.

A nice picture of the conjunction. To me it looked a bit strange untill I realized you took the picture from the southern hemisphere
I am quite sure that the brightest "star" is Venus and the other one is Jupiter. (so I think Pam is wrong and you are right)
