Protea

Friends gave us a bunch of these lovely protea flowers, native to South Africa. The complex details in this flower are amazing (you will need to view large), though to me the inset shot is more appealing.

unusual flowers and cannot say I have seen them before ,... I get
the feeling they last and last and last ;-) oOo
tiabunna club has replied to beverleybeverley has replied to tiabunna clubplacing in a vase ... like you do a rose ? perhaps if you take them now,
cut about half and inch to an inch "under" water ... then place back in
the vase they might just lift ... sometimes this happens with tulips
and roses ... but they revive if you do this ... also ;-) an old newspaper,
wrap them up in this .. like you would a bouquet ... then stand them
in the vase just to rest awhile ..the water slowly rises up the paper
and it somehow it helps ... phew ... perhaps they are feeling the
heat ... or age ;-)
Yes.. I also do like the inset best !
