Where Ben Hall fell

Ben Hall was a famous Australian bushranger (highwayman/bandit in other countries). While he may not have been a Robin Hood, Hall was considered a "gentleman bushranger" who never killed anyone, kept his word, and stole only from the wealthy. We went to visit the place outside Forbes where a party of police troopers gunned him down, 150 years ago today, on 5 May 1865. Maybe it was appropriate that the heavens opened as we arrived (we were unable to leave the car). This Australian folk song is about him.
