An interesting effect, with the perspective reversedfrom what you would normally see (i. e., the top lanterns would normally be smaller).

I suspect that the reason the lantern sizes are larger toward the top is so that, from below, they all look roughly the same size after allowing for height - doesn't work when viewed from a distance away though!
