Leven Walkway

Leven Walkway
Boat Wreck and Sandpoint Marina photographed from the Leven Walkway, Dumbarton

The 4 Engelhardt lifeboats, the 'Titanic' carried, were built in the R. McAlister yard (Sandpoint Marina is now built on the site), which was situated on the right bank of the River Leven in Dumbarton.

'Englehardt collapsible lifeboat C' rescued Joseph Bruce Ismay, the President of the White Star Line. I thought it was 'women and children first'.

ColRam, John FitzGerald, Percy Schramm, Rosalyn Hilborne and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

Boats ready to sail and others that won't do it again .... this is how the sea tells us about life!
