Connected ~ Fontmell Magna

Connected ~ Fontmell Magna
The River Stour runs through the village and this scene is between the church and the village shop. The name Fontmell derives from a Celtic river-name meaning 'spring by the bare hill', and Magna—meaning great—distinguishes this settlement from Fontmell Parva (parva meaning small).

Yes that's right Fabio. There are a few villages in Somerset with Magna in their name, but not so many containing Parva. Having said that, I will probably find that there are now :-)
Thank you very much for your kind comment.
Warm greetings& good evening,

I really like the parallel between the river and the alley, although divergent as Fabio says, and the atmosphere that your photo conveys.
Where there's water, there's more life and charm, which are beautifully captured in your composition, Rosa.
Have a lovely weekend, neither too cold nor too rainy!

Thank you very much for your kind words Eric. It is a village near to where my daughter lives, and we both like to visit it, especially as the shop has an inviting cafe ;-)
Take care and enjoy your weekend.
