Das schaut ja noch richtig warm und sommerlich aus liebe Rosa,das ist schön,dass du da eine Runde unterwegs warst,diese Schiffe sind ja auch sehr schön dekoriert mit Blumen,da wird man sich auch eine schöne Runde am Kanal abfahren können,schön,dass du auch diese Aufnahmen gemacht hast :))

Thank you for your kind comment dear Günter. This canal was only a few miles from the castle I visited on the same day. There is a cycle path along the canal and quite a few pubs, if you get thirsty :-)

Thank you very much for your kind comment Jose Manuel. It is a busy canal, but there are a lot of locks, so you have to be pretty fit! We hired a barge for a day and enjoyed it on the canal.

We occasionally drive to Newbury and walk a bit of the Kennet and Avon canal, but I've never been to Bradford-on-Avon. It looks very beautiful in your photo, especially in the lovely sunshine. There seem to be a lot of moored up canal boats, which I assume are semi-permanent for people who live onboard. I really like that willow tree on the left.

A lovely close up in the PiP as well............and a couple of nice floral displays. I suspect my wife might be interested in "Hasbeen Handbags" :-)))

My favourite part of the canal is near Devizes with the long run of locks. It's very nice at Bradford on Avon though, and the town is lovely, like a mini Bath! There is a boat yard and repair shop by the barges you mention, but there are several that are lived in further along, after the lock by the bridge.

I would love to have seen the Hasbeen Handbags, but it was Friday and it was only open on weekends unfortunately.

Nice view of the canal, thanks to the good light. I like boats adorned with flowers, everything makes you think of a holiday atmosphere that continues, even though we are in October....

A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
I am intreagued by the ;Hasbeen Handbags'. Does that mean that all the handbags which delinquents nicked off old ladies can be found here..? Or maybe someone has done the rounds of charity shops, and are re-selling them for a bit more...

I am pleased you like the pictures. Unfortunately I visited on a Friday and the bags were only shown at weekends. From what I could see in one window, I would think the lady makes them from preused materials. I may never know though.

It must be so lovely to walk along the Avon Canal, Rosa! Such beautiful and peaceful scenery.

So picturesque Rosa. The boats and weeping willow all bathed in beautiful sunlight make a wonderful subject for photography and you made the most of it with these lovely images. What a life the lady and her husband must have cruising along the canal at will and making and selling her handbags from the boat. That is living the dream..
