The Kirchenfeld is a district that was created from 1850 onwards. By the way, the bridge that crosses the Aare River into this quarter was built and paid for by an English construction company. It opened in 1883. :-)

Von draussen, vom öffentlichen Raum können sie mir nichts anhaben. Aber die Botschaften stehen z.T. direkt nebeneinander, da könnte es ev. schon etwas verdächtig aussehen, wenn ich da eine nach der anderen ablichte. ;-)

Ja, wenn du auch noch den riesigen Park hinter der Villa sehen könntest! Kürzlich haben sie da sogar noch einen befestigten Spazierweg im Park angelegt, für den Fall, dass der heilige Vater mal zu Besuch kommt.

Little Nightwitch, diese Art der Bemalung der Fensterladen an alten Villen und Burgen sieht man bei uns noch relativ häufig. Rot/Weiss sind natürlich auch die Landesfarben der Schweiz. Vielleicht wollten sie sich nur etwas anbiedern. ;-))
