Dom Mertens

Mertens Fashion House is wedged between two buildings which look rather plain in comparison. It is one of the newest developments on the 4.5 km long Nevsky pr. and was built 1910-12 by Marian. S. Lyalievich in the the art nouveau Neo-Renaissance style for Mertens Furriers.
Zara and Zara Home, one of the world's largest fashion houses opened an outlet at this address a few days before I took this photo at 02.30 one morning.
I've just got through this morning without realising it is Friday, so this is a late submission.
HFF and a Merry Christmas to all. Might need to go large to see the fence ;-)
